Laboratory policy and lab scheduling
Lab Information
1) The lab manual is posted here.
You can also buy a printed bound copy at Gnomon Copy on Eddy Street (7 min
walk from Engineering quad: at College Ave light turn right on Dryden, left
on Eddy St, on your left). Call Gnomon at 273 - 3333 to make sure they haven't
run out, and to ask them to print a copy for you if needed.
2) Labs meet only 4 times during the semester in room 101A Thurston
Hall. Find your dates below.
3) Please read the lab manual at least one day before you come to
the lab. There is an assignment that
is due at the start of each lab. Unlike what the manual says, do not hand
in anything for lab 0.
4) Labs are due at 10 AM 8 days after the lab is performed
(a Monday lab is due by Tuesday at 10 AM) in the Conway room, Thurston 102.
5) Lab 4 on buckling has been replaced with an on-line virtual lab on
torsion. You need not read lab 4 in the pdf or paper manual or prepare the
lab 4 pre-lab questions. If you have questions about the web site, what
you are supposed to do there, and the report please contact Peeyush Bhargava,
pb83@cornell.edu, 5-0824. If you have questions about the theory please
contact your lab TA. This lab report is also due 8 days after the date posted
below and is also a joint report with the same partners as for lab 3
6) If you miss a lab, you can make it up only with prior permission
from your lab instructor in one of his/her other sections and only if there
is space. There will be another chance to make up late labs from April 28.
